Ah, Spring of 2022. The second season of Bridgerton is right around the corner, “Material Girl” is the unofficial anthem of every fashion creator on social media, and “Coquette Core” is the latest iteration of the romantic aesthetics that have been floating throughout the internet since early 2020. Noticing a pattern here? My Dear Reader, we are in for a very feminine and extravagant Spring fashion season! Please, allow me to be your guide into the 2022 Spring Fashion trends that will make your heart soar.
Pearls on Everything

Have you ever heard of “Pearl Core”? Neither had I until I stumbled upon the term in a YouTube video. Pinterest agrees, expect to see pearls on everything from nails to bags and shoes, belts too! Even tops made entirely out of pearls are not out of the question. And of course, pull out any pearl jewelry you might have hidden in the back of your closet. The world is your oyster.
Big Bow Energy

In my humble opinion, bow detailing of any kind is a classic style. I love a good bow, and this season bows are covering everything you can think of! If you really want to be the center of attention at your next event, opt for a piece with the biggest bow you can find. You will look amazing in pictures, and everyone will ask you where you got your outfit from.
Prima Ballerina

I would be remiss if I didn’t mention all of the ballet-themed details popping up in outfits all over runways and social media feeds this season in a list of 2022 Spring Fashion Trends. Not a ballerina? No problem. You can always look the part by throwing on a wrap skirt and some ballet flats. If it reminds you of ballet, it counts towards this trend. Expect to see more wrap cardigans, tights, tulle, and bodysuits throughout this year.
Not Your Grandma’s Kitten Heels

Unpopular fashion girl opinion here: I am pretty averse to wearing heels. I have been slowly working my way up to wearing 3 inch heels over the last few years, and I finally feel comfortable with that height. And before you stop me, I know that platforms are EVERYTHING right now. I covered platforms in this trend article here. As much as platform heels are being thrown in our faces right now, I have noticed that kitten heels have been secretly put on runways just as often. If platforms aren’t your thing, try their stylish and easier-to-walk-in cousin.
Wear Your Heart on Your Bag

I must admit, I felt that this trend was too feminine for me when I first started to notice it. However, it has started to grow on me. Am I going to buy a heart-shaped bag any time in the near future? No. I probably will never buy a heart-shaped bag. But I would be wrong if I said that they didn’t put a smile on my face every time I see one. You might be *cough* heartless if you don’t agree.
Gingham, for Spring?

Really, what is there to say here? Either you love gingham or you hate it. Unlike it’s bright white and red, more Summer-feeling sister, the gingham this Spring is more muted and soft. I personally am a huge fan of gingham, as I feel it is great when you just want to add a little bit of a print to an outfit but you don’t want to wear florals. If you haven’t tried gingham yet and aren’t sure if it’s for you, think of it as a lighter houndstooth. It really is quite easy to style.
Lavender Love

Lavender has been pretty popular here and there since 2020, but it’s legitimacy as an on-trend color this season was solidified by Pantone when they announced Veri Peri as the 2022 color of the year. Before you correct me, yes I know that periwinkle and lavender are not the same. However, I do believe in Pantone’s prediction powers as there often is a correlation between their color of the year predictions and the hottest colors on the runways. I don’t think it is a coincidence that lavender has been a popular color amongst designers this season.
